I created a learning sample using Articulate Rise. It includes three minilessons on comparing translations of Homer’s The Odyssey, a classic text I enjoy teaching with my ninth graders. I believe this lesson showcases my passion for literary analysis and my learning design principles. The sample was designed with the end goal of students understanding how different word choices can impact the mood, characterization, and ultimately the message of a piece of writing. This skill not only attunes student’s eyes and ears to the subtle differences in author’s styles and how that impacts audiences, but also helps raise their awareness to their own diction choices within their writing. https://share.articulate.com/IeXNS_v6MNX-vJIqxNUlM
